The Historic Preservation Alliance sponsors events tied to our tour program but often more specialized in that whole neighborhoods are feathered which in turn require quite a lot of walking. Recent tours of Bonnyville and Pleasant Valley are examples of our neighborhood focus. Membership meetings are held each year with presentations on historic preservation. When asked, classroom education is provided for area schools.
Additionally, the educational value of hands-on restoration projects are often featured, i.e., tuck pointing on the historic McAllister House by skilled trades people. These restoration workshops are coordinated as often as possible with the ongoing preservation efforts being done in our region.
