The Historic Preservation Alliance sponsors events tied to our tour program – often these are more specialized in that whole neighborhoods are featured, requiring plenty of walking. Membership meetings are held each year with presentations on historic preservation. When asked, classroom education is provided for area schools.
Additionally, the educational value of hands-on restoration and rehabilitation projects are often featured (e.g. pointing on the historic McAllister House by skilled masons and window restoration by experience tradespeople.) These informative workshops are coordinated as often as possible with the ongoing preservation efforts underway throughout the community.
NEW! The Pikes Peak Preservation Forum is our premier educational event. Save the Date! May 3, 2019 hosted at Grace and St. Stephens Church on Tejon, just north of downtown Colorado Springs. Details to follow.
