The Historic Preservation Alliance of Colorado Springs is proud to present the 2021 Preservation Honor Awards to six recipients and a few honorable mentions – all of whom exemplify excellence in preserving, protecting, and promoting our irreplaceable heritage.  

The Historic Preservation Alliance of Colorado Springs Board of Directors is pleased to present our 19th annual Preservation Honor Awards to the following five recipients:

  • Friends of Monument Valley Park: Compatible Landscape Award, for excellence in stone work restoration, repair and maintenance.
  • United States Air Force Academy Planetarium: Civic/Civic Preservation Honor Award, for excellence in the rehabilitation and restoration of the 1959 AFA Planetarium.
  • Robert Loevy: Lifetime Achievement Award (Individual), for exemplary leadership and advocacy for historic preservation, over many decades.
  • Old North End Neighhborhood: Lifetime Achievement Award (Organization), for exemplary leadership, advocacy, education and inspiration.
  • Community of Colorado Springs: Preservation in Progress Award (new category this year), for the adoption of HistoricCOS, the City’s new Historic Master Plan, adopted unanimously by the City Council of Colorado Springs in December 2019.
